The last second to last day of school my 7 year old broke his ankle on the trampoline. So, needless to say we will be spending a lot of time indoors this summer. Which might not be too bad since we do live in Arizona and it gets to 120 degrees.
Anyways, my boys asked if we could make slime or play dough to pass some time. After looking through the cupboards I found these ingredients and kind of wondered what would happen if I added the gelatin to the ingredients for goo.. and that’s where this yummy recipe came from. The gelatin makes it smell so good and my kids said it tastes good.
Items needed:
- 2 Boxes of Gelatin Dessert
- 1/2 cup corn starch
- 6 TBSP water
This was super easy and fast to make and ended up in hours of play. So here is what I did. Poured 2 packets of Gelatin into a dish, the kids wanted cherry and lime. Next, added the 1/2 cup of corn starch to it and 6 TBSP of water. Mixed it together with a spoon until it was dough and wha-la we had edible dough.
When it was ready to play with I did sprinkle a little corn starch on the counter or tray and on the kids hands so it did not stick.
I’m going to have to save this one for when my guy is a bit older!
